Through music and theater, students at San Marin High School learn by doing. They rehearse, perform, design, build, lead, collaborate, and support one another—discovering what they are capable of as artists and as members of a creative community.

Our Philosophy
At San Marin High School, the performing arts are more than classes or performances. They are a place where students learn how to work together, take responsibility, communicate clearly, solve problems, and contribute to something bigger than themselves.
Whether on stage, in the pit, or behind the scenes, every student plays an important role in creating memorable experiences for audiences and one another. The lessons learned through the performing arts—discipline, creativity, collaboration, and confidence—last long after the final curtain call.
The San Marin Performing Arts program serves students and families in Novato, California, and values both excellence and belonging. Students are encouraged to grow as artists while building friendships, developing leadership skills, and discovering a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

Facilities
The Emily Gates Performing Arts Center is the home of San Marin Performing Arts. It gives students an inspiring space to rehearse, perform, design, and bring creative work to life.
From concerts and musicals to drama productions, showcases, and community events, the PAC is where students experience the energy and responsibility of live performance — both on stage and behind the scenes.
