Rent: School Edition Closes After Nine Performances
The spring musical brought together a dedicated cast, pit orchestra, technical crew, directors, families, and volunteers for nine performances at the Emily Gates Performing Arts Center.
From March 12–28, 2026, San Marin Performing Arts presented nine unforgettable performances of Rent: School Edition.
Over three months of rehearsals and preparation, the cast, pit orchestra, and technical arts students invested countless hours in bringing the production to life. Their tenacity, creativity, and commitment shone through in every performance, highlighting the extraordinary teamwork required both onstage and behind the scenes.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the creative team whose dedication shaped the production: Director Kele Gasparini, Emily Gates, Pit Orchestra Director Allison McIvor, Choreographer Kathy Eggert, and Costume Designer Katrina Fehring. Their leadership, artistry, and care gave students the opportunity to grow as performers, musicians, technicians, and collaborators.
The production was also made possible by the tremendous support of families, staff, donors, sponsors, and community members. Parent volunteers contributed in countless ways—from building and painting sets to assisting with costumes, hair, makeup, meals, concessions, and the cast and crew snack table.
As we bid a bittersweet farewell to the show, we celebrate the dedication of every student and volunteer who helped create nine remarkable performances. Together, they brought the vibrant spirit of Rent to the stage and created an experience that will stay with the company long after the final curtain.
